Debates
For years, many of the issues facing this conference have
stimulated debate amongst governments, researchers, donors, NGOs and African
communities. We in the IDRC are closer to an understanding of the issues because
we work with communities on the ground. This conference offers the chance to
analyse the results of research for practical and effective applications. Acacia
has therefore decided to include lively debates on the key issues to galvanise
thinking and interaction among conference participants. Debates will be followed
by audience commentary and a vote.
The debates focus on key questions:
| Do ICTs really
have an impact on poverty? |
|
Can ICTs make a difference in education? |
|
Are Telecentres the answer? |
|
Is liberalisation the answer? |
